January 11th 2008 - Well, it was inevitable, but finally the sequel to the hugely successful and critically acclaimed Resistance: Fall of Man has been confirmed, albeit not officially yet. A leak of February’s edition of Gameinformer, due to hit retail in 6 days, officially confirms the game along with the incredible line up of features and accompaniments set to go with it.
So where do I start? Well, as I mentioned in the title, insomniac are planning for 8 Player online co-op, which will be a primary resource in their goal to overcome the stigma that "bosses don't work in FPS's". What more, the online battle mode will feature 60 player battle modes, yes, SIX-TY players all at once. If you're worried about 60 being too much though, maybe being too much mayhem or just too crowded, then there will also be lobbies based around team-play in smaller numbers to ensure squads who use teamwork and co-operation are equally satisfied.
Aside from the online details, those for offline are pretty skeptic at the moment, aside from the 2 player-offline co-op. The rest of the article is simply about Insomniac hyping up how they're going to find the untapped potential of the PS3, and do better graphics, AI, Physics, loading times and everything else in the game. Kudos to them, I think they can pull it off, but I'll believe that once the trailer is out.
So there we have it, Resistance 2 is on it's way and looks set to exceed the original in every department, as well as presenting the ambition to be one of the most incredible technical achievements ever, and not just on PS3. There really isn't much coverage on Resistance 2 yet aside from this magazine leak, but it's bound to see a lot in the coming weeks now. We'll keep you updated as more news arrives.

This is the first and cardinal rule of combat...
Suppress all human emotion and compassion...
Kill whoever stands in thy way, even if that be Lord God, or Buddha himself...
This truth lies at the heart of the art of combat. Once it is mastered... Thou shall fear no one... Though the devil himself may bar thy way...
